This is a wonderful book - or manual, of sorts - for people who are new to practices such as mindfulness, yoga or meditation. If you're interested in any of these concepts and are looking for more than a Wikipedia history, this is a great introduction. "3T" refers to three Transcendental practices that, if followed, will lead to spiritual transformation. In this case, these are Behavior, Knowledge and Devotion. The book adds a few more in order to better describe Behavior Mindfulness, Knowledge, Devotion, Dharma, and Inner Peace. Dharma in particular was an interesting element to learn about - the idea is that everyone has both a purpose and an "essence", and together these create one's dharma. To live a fulfilling and satisfied life, you have to act in accordance with your dharma. In other words, you must be true to yourself in everything or risk feeling conflict within, and this is not only the case for your day-to-day job, but also for your relationships with others, your community and yourself.
This book will ask you to examine yourself closely - perhaps more closely than you every have, and maybe more closely than you will feel comfortable doing at first. However, you'll be eased into the practices, and as someone relatively new to all of this, I can say that I really enjoyed the read.
The 3T Path Self-Improvement and Self-Realization in Yoga is an inspiring book that grounds your mind and helps steer you towards goals of peace and balance in your life. I have practiced a lot of meditation techniques and dabbled in yoga, so I was very interested in reading the author's insight into becoming more in-tune with the practice. I appreciate the way that the author breaks down his beliefs and approach to everything from reducing stress and anxiety to honing in your life's goals, including career and family. There was a passage in particular that I resonated with and have bookmarked to return to for inspiration "You can change the world to a very limited degree, but you can drastically change your mind and how it interprets reality." The book is organized, helpful and not at all patronizing, and at the same time easy enough to implement into your life. The entry he wrote regarding the death of a loved one was extremely moving. Just as every other human has, I've suffered loss and have struggled quite a bit despite knowing and believing all of the traditional thoughts the deceased are in a good place, they were lucky to have the life they had, I am blessed to have had the time that I did, etc. What I really found simple and remarkable in this book the author used belief in God as well as souls moving on to another life, possibly in another form. I commend the outlook the author projected about cherishing each moment rather than fearing the end. I recommend this book to anyone trying to improve their spiritual centering, using this book as a guide and support system and a valuable tool.
This book is an interesting read if you practice yoga or are wanting to learn more about the history of yoga and how to be mindful. It goes into detail about the origin of yoga and how it relates to religion and spirituality. The author states at the beginning as a precaution that he is going to mention "God" throughout the book. While I'm not religious myself, I did not find it to be overwhelming to find that he was associating so many things with God, but he then went on to discuss how those who have not studied God and religion cannot have an opinion about him- that I do not agree with. There are plenty of opinions out there without "sufficient" knowledge to back them up and everyone is entitled to their opinion regardless of someone else's standard. I think yogis will agree that religion is through everyone's perspective and is allowed to be unique and different. While some parts of this book had me questioning, I did find the exercises to be of value. The author goes into how you have the power to change your behavior and perspective on life and goes through steps and lessons to help you get there. Overall, it's not a bad book if you want to learn how to be mindful and at peace throughout life while learning a bit of history about yoga.
"The 3T Path Self-Improvement and Self-Realization in Yoga" is one of the most thorough, honest, and straightforward books I have ever read. For someone with little to no background in the true background of yoga (not the Westernized version), this novel will be a lot to take in, so I recommend breaking it out into pieces. For someone with more familiarity with the spirituality and other facets of its background, this will serve as a guidebook to further enhance your practice and knowledge.
Giridhari Das takes us through so many facets of yoga from spirituality to mindfulness to everyday life decisions of behavior and what we consume and how we behave. I found that not one section of the book was more important as another; Das' prose allows the sections to flow together seamlessly and connects everything together very well. I found that this book served as a perfect reminder of practices I need to reintroduce in my life, such as a daily meditation as well as avoiding gossip and other behaviors that do not suite me. I will definitely return to this book as a guide and to remind me of what is truly important. I give Das kudos for his inclusion of God without limiting the reader based upon his/her belief system; definitely do not let this stand in your way of absorbing this book in its entirety.

This book has a neat and clear step-by-step process for one to engage in authentic Bhakti Yoga. I really liked the version, it was easy to flip around and search while being inexpensive. The practical, organized, and simplified format was a welcome contrast to some books which are too complex for beginners.
